Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

Well it seems that London's winter winds are passing, there are daffodils, the days are longer and I occasionally feel the need to take my coat off outside, all exciting novelties.

Having arrived in September after walking across Spain and then spending a month in Granada, the London way of life has taken some time to get used to.

London was beginning its hibernation when I arrived and it's only just beginning to break.  People actually smile on the street now and don't shuffle past you with their noses muzzled into their scarves and coat collars anymore.

Australia's seasons are beautiful and unique in their own way, but I think here the seasons are so distinguishable, you can feel the time passing and then one morning you wake up to find a completely different city outside your window.

Well, enough about the weather, I'm told that's what you talk about during awkward conversations while blowing on your already cold coffee due to boring conversation.

So, decisions, decisions, decisions...
I've decided to travel around Europe for a little while and try and see some things I haven't seen before.  I do wish I had (or used) the capability of forward planning, but it seems impulse decisions are leading me forward.

Less than a year ago, one night out at Beachhouse in Barwon Heads with Kirney, the decision to walk the Camino happened over a couple of bottles of wine. Spain then led me to live in London.

Although I grew up in a city, Melbourne is a very different place. London is deceptively large, it feels claustrophobic, but the longer you stay here, the more nooks and crannies you discover.

I managed to get a (crap) job and a (small) room (Who would have thought I'd be living in an ex-council house in HackneyBut then again, I did live in a bungalow in the back of Sim's house for quite a while and a hostel for 3 months in Darwin, so I guess it's not too surprising) and have been doing alright for myself.

But as Bob eloquently put it, the times they are a-changing, so it's time to change with it.

So on a budget, the best thing for me to do is to buy a eurolines pass which will allow me to catch buses across Europe.
My itinerary is a little sketchy at the moment and will probably remain so, but I like travelling that way. Surprises can be good, you never know where they'll lead you.

Now, I have less than two weeks to pack up everything I own and put it...somewhere, say goodbye to London town, and start the adventure.  Oh, and buy a ticket.
